Colorado Springs, the towns by the bases, and up the pass

The city is home base, every side of it. Around it we run south to Fountain and Security-Widefield by Fort Carson, east to Cimarron Hills, Falcon and Peyton, north to Monument and Black Forest, and west through Manitou Springs and up Ute Pass to Woodland Park. Pueblo is past our range.

Colorado Springs, side by side

Every part of the city, and each side has its own kind of call. The older streets near downtown, the Near North End and Old Colorado City have the alleys, the on-street loading and the estates. The Broadmoor and Rockrimmon have the hillside lots, the split-levels and the mitigation piles. Briargate and the Powers corridor have the HOAs, the newer garages and the move-outs. North Colorado Springs along the 41A side has the rentals nearest the post.

The towns around the city

A street of newer two-story homes near Fort Carson with flattened moving boxes and a bare mattress at one curb, the mountains behind

Fountain

Fort Carson's south side. PCS move-outs on a report date, rental turnovers and the garage the movers won't touch.

Fountain →
A quiet residential street of 1970s ranch and split-level homes in Colorado Springs, mature trees, and the foothills rising at the end of the road

Security-Widefield

Post-war ranches, a lot of rentals, and the sheds and garages that came with the house in 1962.

Security-Widefield →
Stacked office desks, rolling chairs and filing cabinets lined up at the loading dock of a small office building for removal

Cimarron Hills

Beside Peterson, dense lots and short carries. Furniture, appliances and turnovers, usually same day.

Cimarron Hills →
Pikes Peak with fresh snow rising behind the red sandstone fins of Garden of the Gods on a clear morning

Manitou Springs

Narrow streets, steep lots and old houses at the foot of the Peak. The crew carries; the truck parks where it can.

Manitou Springs →
A two-car garage packed to the walls with boxes, old bikes, paint cans, a treadmill and bins, the door open to a sunny driveway

Monument

Tri-Lakes, big new homes, strong HOAs and three-car garages that fill up fast. Compliance dates met.

Monument →
A rotted wooden backyard shed half dismantled, roof panels and wall boards stacked for loading, dry prairie grass and a fence line behind

Falcon

Acreage, outbuildings, sheds and the pile behind the barn. Long drives and plenty of room to park the truck.

Falcon →
A pile of cut ponderosa pine branches and scrub oak beside a gravel drive on a wooded foothills lot west of Colorado Springs, a chipper trailer nearby

Black Forest

Wooded acreage where mitigation slash is a yearly job, with the stored lumber and old fence boards going at the same time.

Black Forest →
An old acrylic hot tub cut into sections on a backyard deck, a reciprocating saw and a wheelbarrow beside the pieces, pine trees behind the fence

Woodland Park

Up Ute Pass, higher and colder, with mountain lots, long winters and hot tubs on every other deck.

Woodland Park →
Rear view of a junk hauling truck half loaded with cardboard boxes, a dining chair, a rolled rug and a broken bookshelf, parked on a suburban street

Peyton

The eastern plains: farm and ranch clearouts, long gravel drives, and loads that need the full truck.
