The standard we build to
We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Each time the site is rebuilt it is checked with a keyboard, with a screen reader, on a phone, and with automated tools, and the fixes go in before the next publish. The pages are plain HTML with one heading order per page, named regions for the header, the menu, the content and the footer, and a link at the very top that jumps past the menu.
What that means when you use it
Every menu, button and form field can be reached and used with the keyboard alone, and whatever has focus shows a visible outline. Colors meet the AA contrast ratio, text can be enlarged to twice its size without anything breaking, and nothing blinks or moves on its own; a visitor whose device asks for reduced motion gets none. Images carry written descriptions, form fields carry labels, and there is no time limit on filling anything in. The estimate form is three short fields and a list.
If something doesn't work for you
Nothing on this site is required. Everything it does, asking a question, booking a look, raising a complaint, can be done by phone at (719) 602-8669, at any hour. If a page, a form or a document doesn't work with your technology, email hello@cheyennemountainjunk.com and say what happened and what you were using. We answer within a few business days and fix what we can. We know the site has limits: a receipt or donation list sent as an attachment may not be fully accessible, and if that is the case, ask and we send it as plain text.
